Why Run?
Running is a great way to lose weight,
burn body fat, increase stamina,
decrease blood pressure, tone muscles,
reduce stress, release endorphins, and
build endurance. Running is
inexpensive and with proper training
and knowledge you can run through
every phase of your life.
Is This Clinic For Me?
This clinic is designed for women with little or no previous running experience or the sporadic runner who wants to increase cardio and distance, and expand on fitness level and knowledge. The
supportive and non-competitive
atmosphere will stress consistent
improvement in fitness and running
ability.
The focus of this 8 week clinic is having fun and getting out with others to develop running skills. Participants will follow a walk/run program, with the goal of completing a 2km to 5km run at the conclusion of the clinic.
We will meet at a variety of locations around Prince George to explore different running trails, terrain and areas. A schedule of locations will be provided
at the first session. Each participant will
receive a weekly training schedule with
a list of topics that will be discussed. The group will meet at 6:00 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and the clinic will conclude with a wrap up event on Saturday, June 14th starting at 10 am.
Note: This clinic is not for experienced and advanced level runners!
What If I'm Not a Beginner Runner?
If you are a runner who has progressed beyond the beginner level, please see our Saturday Toonie Trail Run clinic. If you are a walker, please see our Sole Sisters Walking clinic.
